• Insuring building systems work properly through extensive testing and working with the team to resolve issues.
• Look at the energy efficiency of the building systems during design and final operation
• Assist with identifying value engineering opportunities during the design phase
• Proper management of the commissioning work is important for the entire project team, including; contractors, construction manager, Owner and design team members

The commissioning process can be complex and difficult for project team members who have not been involved with a comprehensive commissioning process.

BC+E is familiar with this situation and well versed at guiding the Team through the process. BC+E utilizes a Commissioning Schedule as the primary tool to plan, manage and track progress of the commissioning work.

The Commissioning Schedule can be incorporated into the primary Project Construction Schedule or managed separately. BC+E has utilized both methods successfully and will work closely with project team to provide the method preferred for the project.

Energy Audits and
Building Energy Modeling

BC+E provides energy surveys for commercial buildings identifying energy savings opportunities and evaluating past energy performance. BC+E is continuously helping building owners prioritize and implement energy savings strategies and improvements to their facilities.

BC+E has provided energy simulations for multiple LEED certified buildings. As the agent for the Owner, BC+E is able to use the energy model to evaluate the energy performance of the building while the Architect and Engineers develop the design.

LEED Certification Management

BC+E has experience providing LEED certification and sustainable design consulting services on numerous construction projects. Experience includes management of the LEED program registration and submittals, design consultation, energy modeling and commissioning services.

BC+E’s services and experience are well suited for projects pursuing LEED certification. In addition to being a US Green Building Council Member Firm, BC+E has extensive experience providing energy modeling and system analysis services. As the Commissioning Agent for a project, BC+E is able to work with team members to implement LEED requirements during the construction phase, including performing the indoor air quality (IAQ) testing required of many LEED projects.
